Evolution of a BioShock Enemy.

   As we approach the release of BioShock: Infinite my excitement for BioShock Series has been peaked.  This has resulted in me reading and watching more about the series  and how its was created then I ever imagined.  My latest book acquired, although not new, is Deco Devolution: The Art of Bioschock 2.  This art book is great and really showcases how the look of the game evolved into its final finished piece.  Reading this book I have really gained a new appreciation for how much thought and creativity went into each of the character and how truly artistic the people are at Irrational Games.   
    What is more exciting is when you look at what was changed and added from BioShock to BioShock 2 I can't imagine how intense the characters are going to be in BioShock: Infinite.   Ken Levine, featured in videos on the bottom of this page, gives us a preview of some of the "Heavy Hitters" in the new game.  Ken even acknowledges the lack of range of enemies in the original BioShock.  Watching these "Heavy Hitter" videos you see a much wider range to the enemies and yet they still carry a very BioShock feel.  The videos also feature the creators and the thought process behind each enemy, truly making this team as artistic ans they are technical. 
    With in being over half a decade since the start of the series this next installment should prove to me more striking; both visually and with how challenging the new "Hitters" are to beat.
